Get the Regrind Box
We send you a rugged Regrind Box, free. It's ours, you just keep it working. It lives right on the shop floor, wherever dull tools pile up. Dull tool? It goes in the box. Any brand, no sorting.

Fill it & send it
When it's full, ship it prepaid, or if you're on our route, our van picks it up. On a monthly schedule if you'd rather never think about it.

We inspect & grind
Every tool is inspected, then ground to your Grind Card, the specs you set once and we keep on file. Restored to original geometry, recoated through Oerlikon Balzers. Anything that can't be ground comes back to you anyway, unground and uncharged.

Back in a labeled tube
Sharp tools ship back within 14 business days of your go-ahead. For most shops, that's the day the box lands. Each comes in a fresh tube with a measured label, packed safe for shipping. You pay per tool, only for what we ground.
Your Grind Card, on file
One sheet, in plain machinist terms: minimum diameters, minimum length of cut, radius or square corner, coating or bare, and what to do with tools that aren't worth saving. Fill it out once and we grind every box to it.
No phone tag, no guessing. Changed your mind? Update the card anytime. One-off exception? A note in the box overrides it for that job.

Here's an open secret in the cutting tool world: many of the premium coatings you know by catalog trade names started life in an Oerlikon Balzers chamber, the global leader in PVD tool coatings. The big brands rename it. We don't. Every regrind we ship and every new Star Tool wears Alcrona EVO or TISAFLEX, and we put the name right on the label.
Could we buy a coating vessel and do it in-house, cheaper and faster? Sure, some regrind shops do. We've seen what comes out of budget coating chambers, and we're not putting it on your tools. Coating quality is invisible right up until your tool life isn't.

Here's the thing. Carbide prices have been rising to unprecedented levels, and every shop feels it, ours included. The cheapest carbide you'll ever own is the carbide already sitting in your scrap bin.
Star Tool has been grinding cutting tools in Wichita since 1966, back when high-speed steel ruled every spindle, growing into solid carbide as the industry did.
